Tyler Rathwell

Tyler Rathwell is a passionate and experienced baseball coach who has spent years helping young athletes grow both on and off the field, emphasizing goal setting, mental skills, and a deeper understanding of the game.

Tyler spent his playing years with the Ottawa Nepean Canadians before managing their 16U programs from 2019-2023. He then spent a season coaching professionally overseas with the Stockerau Cubs of the Austrian Bundesliga. He has been coaching with the Pirates for 3 years, and will be the programs technical director for the 2027 season.

Tyler believes in using baseball to teach life skills such as hard work, communications, and resilience, and is dedicated to creating positive, supportive environments where players can thrive.

geoff Nolan – 16U Head coach

Geoff Nolan joins us as Head Coach of our 16U program in 2027, bringing more than 20 years of baseball experience as both a player and a coach. Over the past 10 years with Ottawa West, Geoff has helped lead teams to two Little League national championship appearances, representing Team Ontario.
A lifelong ballplayer, Geoff spent 4 years with the Ottawa White Sox, Ottawa's then-premier club team, where he served as team captain. He went on to play 22 years as a playing manager in Tier 1 of the NCBL, stepping down to Tier 3 last season to focus on coaching full-time. Originally a catcher, Geoff later moved to third base and shortstop in men's league play.
The Pirates are very excited to have Geoff’s experience and leadership behind the bench this season.
